A new review on the toxoplasma walls was just published in collaboration
with A. Dumetre from IHU, Marseille. In this review, we highlight how
the oocyst and sporocyst walls sustain the persistence and transmission
of infective T. gondii parasites from terrestrial and aquatic
environments to the host. We further discuss why targeting the oocyst
wall structure and molecules may reduce the burden of foodborne and
waterborne T. gondii infections.

LAI member Ignacio Causo participated in the ”My Innovation” competition. A 3-min pitch in front of the companies and investors to win a pre-maturation investment by SATT Sud-Est up to 20000 euros.

Pierre-Henri Puech and Laurent Limozin were invited to the Symposium “Mechanobiology in Biomimetics” in Mexico City from 12 to 16 November 2018.
They gave a joint presentation entitled “Some aspects of immune cells mechanotransduction”. This was also the occasion to reinforce the links between LAI and the mexican National Laboratory LaNSBioDyT.

LAI member Leda Lacaria participated in the 4th International Conference on Physics and Biological Systems held on Oct 22-24 2018 in Gif-sur-Yvette, in the south of Paris.This Conference aims to bring together a broad range of physical and life scientists working at the interface between the two disciplines around in-depth talks by first-rate international speakers.

We are pleased to annonce that the PACA region selected our project « RARE DETECT » for funding. This grant will finance the acquisition of a brand new cell analyser and cell sorter to the level of 149.000 euros. It will allow the Inserm TPR2 to upgrade outstandingly the commun facility of ‘culture cell biology’, opened to all researchers on site.
