Biophysical and Numerical Methods

biophys_numerical_methodsThe study of biological systems from a physical point of view requires often new instrumentation. Development of biophysical methodologies and nanotools involves one of our main activities. We develop and apply both commercial and custom-made systems to probe physical parameters of biological systems ranging from single biomolecules to membranes and living cells. These include the binding strength and kinetics of receptor-ligand complexes, the microrheology of living cells and the motility of living leukocytes.

We program softwares « from scratch » to control our setups, process the data using mainly open source langages (Java, Python, Matlab), but also deploy dedicated IA based solutions for image or text processing. Whenever possible, the code is made available to the community on software forges.
